Wedding photographer in Romania

Couple photographed during a warm evening celebration

We are Joe and Ana, a married couple photographing weddings from Romania, the land of castles. It is our home, which means no travel day between us and your morning preparations, and it means we know how the light behaves in these mountains and old towns.

Romania is one of the most beautiful places in Europe to marry. Castles, painted churches, Carpathian meadows and long tables under the trees, all within a few hours of each other.

Where we photograph in Romania

  • Bran and BrasovCastle ceremonies and Carpathian portraits.
  • Sinaia and PelesNeo-Renaissance architecture and forested backdrops.
  • Transylvania and SibiuFortified churches, cobbled squares and rural estates.
  • BucharestCity-hall ceremonies, hotel weddings and evening celebrations.
  • Maramures and BucovinaWooden churches and traditional village celebrations.

What a Romanian wedding day usually looks like

Most days begin with the traditional gathering at each family home, move to the civil or religious ceremony, and end in a reception that runs late with live music. It is a long, generous day, and it is photographed best by someone who knows what is coming next.

We build the timeline with you months in advance so the portraits happen in the best light of the day rather than whenever there is a gap.

Travel and logistics

There is no travel fee for weddings within Romania. For venues in the mountains we usually arrive the day before to scout the light and walk the property with you.

We also photograph legal ceremonies abroad followed by a celebration at home, and the reverse, without treating the second day as a separate booking.

Common questions

Do you photograph Orthodox church ceremonies?

Yes. We photograph religious ceremonies regularly and work respectfully within whatever the priest asks of us, moving quietly and never interrupting the service.

Can you photograph a castle wedding in Transylvania?

Yes. Castle and estate weddings around Bran, Brasov and Sinaia are among the days we photograph most often, and we can help with scouting and timing on the property.
