What wedding photography actually costs you in Europe
Couples usually ask what a wedding photographer costs before they ask what one does, which is understandable and almost always the wrong order. Two quotes for the same date can differ enormously and still both be fair.
We do not publish figures, because we do not photograph a standard day. What we can do is explain exactly what moves a proposal up or down, so that when you compare photographers you are comparing the same things.
The length and shape of your celebration
This is the single biggest factor. We photograph half days alongside a smaller gathering, single wedding days from preparations to the last dance, weekends built around a welcome dinner, five-day celebrations, and weddings held at sea on a cruise.
A half day and a five-day celebration are different pieces of work, not different sizes of the same one. Tell us the shape of yours early and the proposal follows from it.
Travel, scouting and the day before
We arrive the day before every wedding we travel to, so nothing depends on a flight running on time and so we can walk the venue at the same hour as your ceremony. Travel and accommodation are quoted inside the package rather than added afterwards.
Ask any photographer whether travel is included. It is the most common reason a low quote grows later.

The work you do not see
For most weddings, the hours spent editing exceed the hours spent shooting. Culling, colour, retouching and building the gallery are where a consistent set of photographs is actually made.
A quote that looks unusually low is rarely a bargain on the day. It is usually a shorter, faster edit.

- Is travel and accommodation included, and what happens if it changes?
- Is a second shooter included, or is it an addition?
- How many images will we receive, and how are they delivered?
- How long until the full gallery arrives?
- Can we see a complete wedding, not just the best frames from twenty of them?

Is travel across Europe an extra charge?
Travel is quoted inside your package rather than added later, so the figure you see is the figure you pay.
Do you offer video as well?
Yes, on request. We are photographers first and add a film when a couple wants one.
